Weis Gives Back

Elizabeth was searching for a local organization to Richmond to partner with after relocating back to RVA that would embrace a larger community and she now partners with, fundraises for, volunteers with and collaborates with Jacob's Chance, a non-profit which benefits a wide range of individuals 5-40 years old who have developmental and or, intellectual disabilities.

Elizabeth has worked with Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU as a Miracle Partner, Autism Speaks with Project Blue and served on the Richmond Committee and Chaired the Richmond Walk several years before moving to Hampton Roads. After relocating to Hampton Roads she established a relationship with Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and continued to renew her agreement until relocating back to RVA in 2024! She was also involved with several other organizations that benefitted Special Needs Children.

She has proudly supported the organizations she's worked with by making donations on every closed real estate transaction in honor of her clients during the year. Since returning to RVA and establishing the partnership with Jacob's Chance she will be focused on her partnership which enhances the lives of many in a wider age range and will be able to be more actively involved personally with volunteering and while continuing to Give Back a portion of her Commissions to Jacob's Chance Scholarship Fund.

Elizabeth's Story

She has a child with ADHD, Genetic Syndrome and is also on the Spectrum - she searched for the answers that would help her get her child what was needed; she understands the struggle and the fight.

Elizabeth's Search For The Missing Piece began in 2015 when she received custody of her Grandson Dillon at 11 months of age. In the beginning, it was thought he was just developmentally delayed - Years of appointments and testing even a full DNA test with specialists along with talking with anyone who may have some direction to help her find the answers. Most of the directions received was from talking with others and being guided by those who had been through similar situations. In late 2021 after being on a waitlist for 6 months to have Dillon see a Developmental Pediatrician the real testing began and the missing Piece was found - Autism Spectrum, Genetic Syndrome and ADHD.

Now she continues in regard to his Education Plan, Medication and Therapy but they are moving forward. The intent with her partnerships is to be able to share her experiences with others and to assist in helping to fundraise in her Community to help others and hopefully to prevent her experience from happening to other families. Dillon's road to finding the missing Piece was a hard one with a lot of ups and downs and many times she just had to sit back and take a break with a long cry before venturing out to search again for the answer that she had to find. She's very thankful to those who helped guide me, made suggestions, supported them and helped to get to the answer. If you are on the Search For The Missing Piece feel free to reach out to her she'd be happy to listen and make suggestions or guide, you to others who can.

Elizabeth has worked with organizations such as Children's Miracle Network, Autism Speaks and local Food Banks through volunteering and fundraising for the Children. She has received numerous awards for her positive impact through significant outreach to uplift her community.

Discovering Jacob's Chance has given Elizabeth an organization to focus on with her Weis Gives Back and has opened doors for Dillon to be able to participate in athletics and special programming.

How her partnership works with Jacob's Chance:
When she lists or sells a home and it closes a Portion of her Commission is given to Jacob's Chance to support their Scholarship Program to ensure other families can participate in the Events/Programs.   It's this simple - Sell or Buy a Home with Elizabeth and she Gives a Portion of her Commission to Jacob's Chance!
